The Product is recommended for use to treat the following:
Zollinger-Ellison Syndrome -Too much acid in the stomach caused by a growth in the pancreas
Gastro-esophageal reflux disease (GERD)
Ulcers caused by medicines called NSAIDs (Non-Steroidal Anti-Inflammatory Drugs)
Ulcers in the upper part of the intestine (duodenal ulcer) or stomach (gastric ulcer) prevention of reoccurrence of ulcers
Usage Directions
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.
Precautions & Warnings
Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
Have severe liver problems
Are allergic to OMEZ 20MG or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Pass black stools (blood-stained faeces), diarrhoea
Lose a lot of weight for no reason and have problems swallowing
Begin to vomit food or blood
Get stomach pain or indigestion
Indicated Side Effects
Like all medicines, this medicine cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.
Yellow skin, dark urine and tiredness
Severe allergic reaction - Sudden wheezing, swelling of your lips, tongue and throat or body, rash, fainting or difficulties to swallow
Stevens-Johnson syndrome or toxic epidermal necrolysis - Reddening of the skin with blisters or peeling and bleeding in the lips, eyes, mouth, nose and genitals
Feeling sick (nausea) or being sick (vomiting)
Headache
Diarrhoea, stomach pain, constipation, flatulence, benign polyps in the stomach
Fracture of the hip, wrist or spine
Swelling of the feet and ankles
Generally feeling unwell and lacking energy
Disturbed sleep (insomnia)
Skin rash, lumpy rash (hives) and itchy skin
Changes in blood tests that check how the liver is working
Spinning feeling (vertigo)
Inflammation in the gut
Reduced number of white cells or platelets
Increased sweating
Fever, wheezing
Severe kidney problems (interstitial nephritis)
Low levels of sodium in the blood - being sick (vomiting) and cramps
Joint pains (arthralgia) or muscle pains (myalgia)
Feeling agitated, confused or depressed
Skin rash on exposure to sunshine
Taste changes
Hair loss (alopecia)
Eyesight problems such as blurred vision
Suddenly feeling wheezy or short of breath (bronchospasm)
An inflammation of the inside of the mouth
Dry mouth
Enlarged breasts in men
Aggression
Muscle weakness
Seeing, feeling or hearing things that are not there (hallucinations)
Erythema multiforme - joint pains
Interactions
Amoxicillin and clarithromycin (to treat infections)
Medicine containing nelfinavir, atazanavir, saquinavir (used for HIV infection)
Methotrexate (a chemotherapy medicine used in high doses to treat cancer)
Ketoconazole, itraconazole, posaconazole or voriconazole (used to treat infections caused by a fungus)
Erlotinib (used to treat cancer)
Digoxin (used to treat heart problems)
Clopidogrel (used to prevent blood clots)
Diazepam, Phenytoin (used to treat anxiety, relax muscles or in epilepsy)
Cilostazol (used to treat intermittent claudication)
Warfarin or other vitamin K blockers
Tacrolimus (in cases of organ transplantation)
Rifampicin (used to treat tuberculosis)
Storage Condition
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight or as mentioned on Product/Label.
