The Product is recommended for use to treat the following:
GLIMEPIRIDE 1MG is used to treat a certain form of diabetes (type 2 diabetes mellitus) when diet, physical exercise and weight reduction alone have not been able to control your blood sugar levels
Usage Directions
Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your Doctor. Swallow it as a whole with water; do not crush, break or chew it.
Precautions & Warnings
Please consult your doctor before consuming this medicine, in case of:
Have severe kidney or liver disease
Are allergic (hypersensitive) to Glimepiride or other sulfonylureas or sulfonamides or any of the other ingredients of this medicine
Are in a diabetic coma
Have insulin dependent diabetes
Have diabetic ketoacidosis (a complication of diabetes when your acid level is raised in your body)
Indicated Side Effects
Severe hypoglycaemia including loss of consciousness, seizures or coma
Allergic reactions (including inflammation of blood vessels, often with skin rash) which may develop into serious reactions with difficulty in breathing, fall in blood pressure and sometimes progressing to shock
Allergy (hypersensitivity) of the skin such as itching, rash, hives and increased sensitivity to sun
Abnormal liver function including yellowing of the skin and eyes (jaundice), problems with the bile flow (cholestasis), inflammation of the liver (hepatitis) or liver failure
Decrease in the amount of sodium level in your blood (shown by blood tests)
Lower blood sugar than normal
Feeling or being sick, diarrhoea, feeling full or bloated, and abdominal pain
Decrease in the number of blood cells
Red blood cells (which can make the skin pale and cause weakness or breathlessness)
Blood platelets (which increases risk of bleeding or bruising)
White blood cells (which makes infections more likely)
Interactions
Please inform your doctor if you have recently consumed or are consuming any of the below mention medicine:
Allopurinol, probenecid, sulfinpyrazone, medicines to treat gout
Phenylbutazone, azopropazone, oxyphenbutazone, aspirin, medicines to treat pain and inflammation
Anabolics, medicines supporting muscle build up
Insulin or metformin, medicines to treat diabetes mellitus
Chlorpromazine and other phenothiazine derivatives, medicines to treat severe mental disorders
Coumarin derivatives such as warfarin, medicines to inhibit blood clotting
Levothyroxine medicines used to stimulate the thyroid gland
Fenfluramine, medicines used to reduce weight
Medicines to treat high blood pressure
Disopyramide, medicines used to control abnormal heart beat
Oestrogens, progestogens, medicines containing female sex hormones
Fibrates, nicotinic acid, medicines lowering high cholesterol level
Long acting sulfonamides, medicines to treat urinary infections
Fluoxetine, MAO inhibitors, medicines to treat depression
Tetracyclines, chloramphenicol, fluconazole, miconazole, quinolones, clarithromycin, medicines to treat bacterial and fungal infections
Storage Condition
Store in a cool and dry place away from sunlight or as mentioned on Product/Label.
